"Photography for me is not looking, it’s feeling.
If you can’t feel what you’re looking at, then you’re never going to get others to feel anything when they look at your pictures."
Sir Don McCullin
TRIPS
I am one of a number of amateur photographers who regularly book trips with Natures Images. Founded by professional nature photographers and conservationists Danny Green and Mark Sisson, all of their trip leaders are widely published and successful award winning photographers with strong ethical credentials.
There are a number of hides and workshops run mainly in Worcestershire, but also in Wilshire, Oxfordshire and Scotland through Nature Photography Hides and Workshops
I have spent a number of Natures Images trips in the company of Pete Whieldon who has established hides and workshops in Hampshire at Pete Whieldon Photography
Dean Mason has established a Windows on Wildlife Nature Photography Hides & Workshops in Dorset
Bob Brind-Surch offers a variety of workshops in UK and abroad at Natures Photos
TIPS
Some useful websites that I have discovered offering tips and advice and consider useful:
Steve Perry's website has a goldmine of useful information for wildlife photographers and especially for Nikon Camera Users with links to downloadable pdf books that come with free updates once purchased. It also has video tutorials delivered in a clear, easy to follow and breezy style. I subscribe to his free newsletter and it is a website to which I often refer. I have a couple of his e-books which are models of clarity and information with diagrams and include cameras as well as subjects such a bird wildlife photography guide all at Steve Perry Backcountry Gallery
I am a huge fan of the inexpensive, and one-off purchase, App GoodReader for i-Pad and i-Phone to which you can save, search, file manage and annotate/highlight pdf files. Amongst other things I have my camera manuals and the above mentioned e-books stored on it which becomes a handy reference in the field.
